2012 Maison Williams Chase Gevrey Chambertin
Having heard great things about this wine in the past I was delighted when the opportunity to visit a vineyard sprung up. Nicknamed by some as the King of Burgundy, it would be a sin to not include it in my collection!
Medium red in colour, a deep and wild nose combines raspberries and crushed strawberries with a floral note of rose petals. It is fleshy and deep, but with harmonious acidity, framing and intensifying the flavours of raspberry, mocha and flowers. A beautifully
structured wine with substantial fine tannins and a lingering finish of red fruits, spices and cherries.
